Tree planting in River Ave
National Plant a Tree Day & Sausage Sizzle July 2014
National Tree Day Sunday 27th July, at the River Avenue site was once again a very successful planting day thanks to the ‘Friends’ and all the volunteers on the day. Tony and Glynis Butteriss did a wonderful job with planning and catering. The site that was once very degraded, is now being re-vegetated as part of a larger project to restore an important area along the Lane Cove River that not only provides an important riparian wild life corridor but also includes three different Endangered Ecological Communities. The event consolidated and extended an area of previous planting days. Tony and the River Ave Bushcare group are doing a wonderful job throughout this area. It was also great to see support from other Bushcare groups for the day.
Any one who would be interested in more regular volunteer involvement, please look at our Volunteer Bushcare page.
