Planting Day at Sugarloaf Point with the Tzu Chi Foundation – Saturday 3rd June 1.30pm – 4.30pm

The Tzu Chi Foundation will be back again on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd June at Sugarloaf Point for a planting day. Sugarloaf Point is a lovely part of the park if you have never been there. Located right on the banks of the river just off Pittwater Rd, East Ryde, it is popular for fishing, picnicking, and bird watching. As it was once the site of a sand mining and dredging operation many years ago there are plenty of weeds though, and over the years there has been much work done to rehabilitate the area, including lots of planting, bush regeneration and a saltmarsh restoration project. In more recent years it has benefitted from the efforts of the small but growing Sugarloaf Bushcare group. Please let me know if you plan to come along and I’ll send you some more information.
