Volunteer Week Event

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Friends of LCNP and the Opening of Jenkins Kitchen

Saturday May 25th 11.00 – 1.00.

The opening of Jenkins Kitchen by the NSW Minister for the Environment, Matt Kean.

There will be a ‘Smoking Ceremony’, Aussie animals, acoustic music and volunteer stalls.

Jenkins Kitchen was built in 1855 by Thomas and Maria Jenkins as the stand alone kitchen for their homestead on the orchard Millwood. The homestead burnt down in 1940 after the orchard had been incorporated in Lane Cove National Park. The kitchen has been restored by the Friends of Lane Cove National Park with the aid of a NSW OEH Heritage Near Me grant. It will both illustrate a turn of the century kitchen and act as an interpretation centre for the park. All are welcome.

Additionally there will be a barbeque for past and present Friends of LCNP and bushcare volunteer please register for the bbq at
